Soliance has launched a self-tanning complex that masks the odor associated with the Maillard reaction. The company partnered with CPL Aromas to produce Vegetan FL Creation (INCI: Dihydroxyacetone (and) Water (aqua) (and) Fragrance (parfum) (and) Polysorbate 20 (and) Caprylyl/Capryl Wheat Bran/Straw Glycosides).
To create the complex, Soliance relied of CPL Aromas' expertise to identify the odor-causing molecules through thermal desorption. The molecules were then neutralized specifically with the Aromaguard technology. Soliance then developed a blend of its liquid dihydroxyacetone (DHA), the fragrance technology, a surfactant and solubilizers to create the blend. According to the company, the complex is ready to use, stable and easy to formulate with, even in cold process formulations.
The company tested the complex on volunteers to report that it showed the same coloration performance as DHA alone and 100% of the testers noticed the absence of unpleasant smell.
The complex is supplied as a colorless to light yellow liquid. It is recommended for self-tanners, glowing products and odor control.
