Antiwrinkle Peptide for Skin Matrix Stimulation

Sederma has added an antiwrinkle peptide to the Matrixyl range that is said to stimulate six major components of the skin matrix and the dermal-epidermal junction (DEJ). Matrixyl Synthe'6 (INCI: Not Provided) is said to reduce the appearance of wrinkles from the inside for visibly smoother and plumper skin.

The peptide reportedly has a matrikine-like effect. By stimulating major constituents of the skin matrix and the DEJ, the peptide is said to ensure optimal architecture of the tissue.

The company conducted in vivo studies for two months and reported that the peptide visibly smoothed wrinkles on the forehead and on the crow's feet. To establish a change in wrinkles, the company measured a number of parameters including wrinkle volume, depth and surface in addition to lifting effect and wrinkle spread.
