Japanese edible-seaweed Porphyra yezoensis survives in an environment in which salt concentration, temperature and humidity change rapidly. The seaweed is protected via porphyran, a sulfated polysaccharide derived from the plant. IPF-100K (INCI: Porphyra Yezoensis Extract) is cosmetic grade of porphyran, which is able to inhibit erythema by UV irradiation, retain moisture and protect skin.
