Virgin-like Hair Restoration via Ashland Polymer

Getting back to the basics of healthy hair, formulations including Ashland’s N-DurHance AA2000 (INCI: Acrylamidopropyltrimonium Chloride/Acrylamide Copolymer) can come in handy; the ingredient is intended to restore the appearance of hair to its virgin state.

Based on acrylate chemistry, the conditioning polymer specifically acts by returning damaged, hydrophilic hair to a hydrophobic state—in other words, restoring hair to its condition prior to damage from harsh cleansing regimens, heat styling or other treatments.

These positive effects continue after use due to a novel conditioning mechanism that controls "in situ post flocculation" on hair, according to the company; this ensures charges are balanced along the hair shaft to ensure even distribution of conditioning after shampooing.

The polymer can be utilized in both rinse-off and leave-on formulations at low use levels.
