Symrise has introduced new results for Thermolat (INCI: Vanillyl Butyl Ether (and) 1,2-Hexanediol (and) Caprylyl Glycol), an ingredient that creates a warm feeling on the skin.

The company developed a test methodology to evaluate the sensation generated by the topical application of a cosmetic product. Upon application at 1%, results showed Thermolat has a positive impact on the mood balance and can be associated with feelings of well-being and satisfaction.

The company developed the ingredient as a solution to 71% of consumers who like feeling a warming sensation from their skin care applications, while also helping reduce redness, burning or stinging side effects.

The liquid and odorless ingredient starts to work within five minutes of application to the skin and can last up to two hours.

“Thanks to its safe and gentle effect, Thermolat can be used in a very wide range of care and beauty products and gives them the ability to create a cozy warm feeling,” explained Caroline Baptiste, global product manager, Symrise.
