Cosmetic companies support and conduct stability study programs because it is good business. Any improvement in stablity of a product is important for product performance, consumer satisfaction and economics. A well-designed, comprehensive stabilty program should aid in the selection of proposed cosmetic products and their packaging, and assure stability of these products is adequately monitored fromt he moment each formulation becomes a product candidate until the end of its market life.
Before a cosmetic product is approved for distribution and sale, its manufacturer must be satisfied the product is safe, stable and usable, for soem specified time during normal storage and handling, under extraordinary warehouse and shipping conditions and even hishandling by consumers.
