This present invention relates to the use of specific amides in skin care, particularly for moisturization. These compositions may be employed for non-therapeutic skin care and/or for making up the skin. The cosmetic compositions are preferably formulated under non-alkaline conditions, even more preferably at a pH close to that of the skin, for example at a pH of between 5 and 6. The compounds may be present most preferably from 0.1% to 10% w.w.
