European Patent Application EP 2944353
Publication date: Nov. 18, 2015
Assignee: Johnson & Johnson Consumer Companies, Inc.

These inventors have identified a need for sunscreen compositions that include UV-absorbing polymers and provide sufficient SPF while also providing, among other benefits, good aesthetics.

In response, this patent describes a sunscreen including a polymer composition that contains a UV-absorbing polyglycerol having a UV-absorbing chromophore chemically bound to it. Said composition also contains a cosmetically acceptable topical carrier that contains at least 1% w/w of a non-UV-absorbing polyglycerol.
