Disclosed here are systems and methods for previewing cosmetics through an integrated electronic device such as a smartphone or tablet. A picture is selected and a portion of it is identified, to which a color cosmetic, selected from a palette, is digitally applied.

The application may also interface with one or more cosmetic provider systems, to give users access to different services and information from different cosmetic systems. For example, the application may connect with servers from one or more retailers or cosmetic manufacturers to receive data reflecting their latest collections.
