Flux-enabling compositions and methods for dermal delivery of drugs
US Patent Application 20100267678
Publication date: Oct. 21, 2010
Assignee: ZARS Pharma, Inc.

The present invention describes adhesive solidifying formulations, methods of drug delivery, and solidified layers for dermal delivery of a drug. The formulation can include a drug, a solvent vehicle and a solidifying agent, where the solvent can include a volatile solvent system comprising at least one volatile and one non-volatile solvent, wherein the non-volatile solvent is a flux-enabling non-volatile solvent capable of facilitating the delivery of the drug over a sustained period of time. The formulation can have a viscosity suitable for application to a skin prior to the evaporation of the volatile solvents system.

Gel technology to blur fine lines, wrinkles
US Patent Application 20100266649
Publication date: Oct. 21, 2010
Assignee: Avon Products, Inc.

This patent discloses a gel system comprising a fractal network of nanoparticles and macroscopic particles. The gel system is capable of forming an optical gel that is said to effectively blur fine lines and wrinkles as a consequence of the size domain differences between the fractal particles and the macroscopic particles. Cosmetic compositions comprising such gels and methods for their use are also disclosed.
