Abstract: The authors describe a new technology to formulate liposomes by diluting a lamellar liquid crystalline phase with water, producing lipsomes in a single step.

The article surveys some of the existing methods to prepare liposomes and discusses a new technology that forms liposomes by diluting a lamellar liquid crystalline phase with water. This new technology produces the liposomes in a single step, and it gives good control over their size.
