Folic acid preparations: Beiersdorf AG introduced cosmetic or dermatological preparations containing folic acid and/or derivatives thereof, fillers and thickeners.1 An example of an o/w emulsion is shown in Formula 1.

Papain exfoliant: Amorepacific Corp. discloses a cosmetic composition containing papain for exfoliating skin keratin.2The invention relates to a cosmetic composition containing enzymes, specifically the actives papain and at least one from the group consisting of the anine and N-acetyl glucosamine.

The composition controls the skin turnover cycle and promotes the exfoliation of skin keratin. An example of a cosmetic emulsion for exfoliating skin keratin is shown in Formula 2. After application of the cosmetic composition for one week, skin hyperkeratinization was changed to a smooth and uniform state in human subjects.
