This column is the second in a two-part series focusing on Mexican Cosmetic Regulations. In Part 1, which was published earlier this year, I reported how the Mexican regulations define the term "cosmetics" and the various types of cosmetics. I also detailed the required safety testing for each of the cosmetic types, and I listed cosmetic ingredients that are prohibited in Mexico.

In Part 2, I will discuss cosmetic ingredients that are restricted in Mexico. I'll survey the permitted and resticted colors, label requirements and special regulations regarding cosmetic treatment products. There are notification reuirements in Mexico, which I will also discuss.

This is only an excerpt of the full article that appeared in Cosmetics & Toiletries, but you can purchase the full-text version.
