ASEAN Regulation Covered at in-cosmetics Asia

Attendees at in-cosmetics Asia will get an opportunity to participate in a hands-on review of Asian cosmetics regulation. The Cosmetic Regulations and Safety Assessment Workshop will be hosted on Oct. 15, 2009, the last day of in-cosmetics Asia in Singapore.

The workshop will provide a full review of Asian regulations along with practical demonstrations on assessing product safety in accordance with the recent ASEAN Cosmetic Directive. The workshop will be led by Alain Khaiat, PhD, founder of Seer Consulting, and Bashkar Mukerji, PhD, toxicology manager at Johnson & Johnson Asia-Pacific.

According to the event's organizers, the workshop's interactive sessions will give delegates the opportunity to understand the intricacies of the new directive and how it will affect their company's processes. In addition, training will be given on the handling and selection of raw materials, how to read the safety data provided by suppliers and how to use this to evaluate the safety of the product.

Registration at the workshop is limited to 60 attendees, and early booking rate is US$100. In addition to the workshop, in-cosmetics Asia is hosting a number of other educational seminars including the Spotlight on Skin-Whitening Conference, Innovation Seminars and Marketing Trends presentations.
