L'Oreal S.A.
Compositions comprising at least one silicone, at least one compound comprising at least one ester group, and at least one copolymer, and methods for using the same
In one embodiment, the disclosed inventive compositions do not comprise any volatile solvents. Compositions comprising at least one encapsulated pigment, wherein the at least one encapsulated pigment is dispersed in at least one silicone, are also disclosed.

AP/Deo
7,311,898
Colgate-Palmolive Co.
High efficacy, low irritation aluminum salts and related products
This invention relates to a class of high efficacy, low irritation aluminum salts that may be used to formulate nonaerosol, propellant-free antiperspirants and/or deodorants.

Hair, Skin UV Protection
7,311,897
Ciba Specialty Chemicals Corp.
Symmetrical triazine derivatives
Disclosed is the use of specific symmetrical triazine derivatives for the protection of human and animal hair and skin against the damaging effect of UV radiation. Also disclosed are cosmetic compositions comprising these triazine derivatives and process for preparation of these compounds.

Dyeing Hair
7,311,737
L'Oreal
Secondary para-phenylenediamine compounds comprising N-alkylfluorine, dye compositions comprising them and processes of dyeing therewith
Disclosed is a composition for dyeing keratin fibers, for example human keratin fibers such as the hair, comprising, in a medium that is suitable for dyeing, at least one secondary para-phenylenediamine compound comprising N-alkylfluorine.

Saccharide Skin Treatments
20070299018
M Prost, J Ragot and P Tubery
Derivatives of genkwanin and sakuranetin, cosmetic and therapeutic use thereof and preparation method of same
A novel use of saccharide derivatives of genkwanin and sakuranetin is recommended for improving the texture of the skin or for treating or preventing disorders caused by free radicals.

Transport Protein
20070299008
A Rummel
Transport protein to introduce chemical compounds into nerve cells
The invention relates to a transport protein that can be obtained by modifying the heavy chain of the neurotoxin formed by Clostridium botulinum. The protein binds specifically to nerve cells with a higher affinity as the native neurotoxin. The invention also relates to a method for the production of transport protein, the nucleic acids coding for the transport protein, the transport protein containing pharmaceutical and cosmetic compositions and use thereof.

Derm Powder
20070298062
Y Sasaki et al.
Resin powder for dermatologic composition, skin cleansing agent and cosmetic composition using the powder, and preparation processes of the powder
Provided is a resin powder for a dermatologic composition composed of resin particles having an average volume particle size of 2.0 to 20.0 μm, a shape factor SF1 of 110 to 140, and an average volume particle size distribution GSDv of 1.3 or less. Also disclosed are a skin cleansing composition and a cosmetic composition containing the resin powder, and a process for preparing the resin powder.

Conditioning

20070298004
The Procter & Gamble Co.
Conditioning composition comprising asymmetric dialkyl quaternized ammonium salt
Disclosed is a conditioning composition comprising an asymmetric dialkyl ammonium salt cationic surfactant, a high melting point fatty compound, and an aqueous carrier. The composition can provide improved ease-to-rinse feel while maintaining conditioning benefits.

20070297992
The Procter & Gamble Co.
Product release system to atomize compositions containing hair-conditioning ingredients
Disclosed is a product release system to atomize cosmetic hair compositions. The system has pressure-resistant packaging, a capillary-containing spray head, and a propellant-containing cosmetic composition. The composition contains at least one hair-conditioning ingredient, which is selected from cationic surfactants, amino surfactants, silicone compounds, fatty alcohols, oils, plant extracts, protein hydrolysates, amino acids, panthenol, panthenyl ethyl ether, sorbitol, betaine, and creatine. The atomization is done using the capillary. The capillary preferably has a diameter of 0.1 to 1 mm and a length of 5 to 100 mm. The spray rate is preferably 0.01 to 5 g/s. The composition can particularly be a gel, wax or emulsion.

Sun Care

20070298000
G Grune
High SPF transparent or translucent naturally derived, cytoprotective, UV radiation resistant compositions
Disclosed is a composition comprising: a) at least one inorganic sun-block or sunscreen agent that is a proven nonendocrine disrupter; b) at least one emollient or mixtures thereof proven to be a nonendocrine disrupter; c) at least one emulsifier; and d) an oil component capable of boosting SPF values. These compositions are shown to be capable of protecting skin and mammalian health from the harmful effects of radiation including UV light or sunlight by inhibiting the loss of skin immuno-competency and eliminating any known or suspected endocrine disrupting agents normally utilized as sun protective agents.

20070297995
Laboratoires Expanscience
