Kevin Gallagher, Croda International PLC’s recently retired president of Global Personal Care and Actives, was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award at this year’s in-cosmetics exhibition, held last week at the Paris Exhibition, Porte de Versailles in Paris, France.

Gallagher’s career with Croda spanned almost four decades, leaving a lasting legacy of innovation within Croda’s business and the industry itself. He began his career with Croda as an applications chemist in 1978 and held positions in R&D, QA and sales and marketing before moving into general management in 1989. He became the first president of Croda’s Global Personal Care and Actives in 2014.

At the forefront of the industry’s move from animal- to plant-derived ingredients, he spearheaded many of Croda’s sustainability initiatives. He is a co-inventor on seven patents held by Croda, and his commitment and passion for the industry continues into retirement with the establishment of Kevin Gallagher Consulting LLC, where he is advising companies including Croda on developing strategies.

“Winning the Lifetime Achievement Award is a wonderful accolade that recognizes true innovation and commitment to the industry,” Gallagher said.

Gallagher remains an independent director on the board of P2 Sciences, a renewable specialty chemicals company, and serves on the chemical engineering advisory board at the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
