Ni'Kita Wilson Joins Aware Products and Returns as C&T Columnist

Ni'Kita Wilson is joining Aware Products as VP of sales and innovation. She joins the company from Catalyst Cosmetic Development, where she served as CEO and will continue to serve as an advisor.

Wilson is also coming back to the Cosmetics & Toiletries team as a regular columnist, having previously written the Read the Label column. She will be contributing a regular online column in 2015 on formulating trends and innovation.

Based in New Jersey, Wilson will extend Aware Products’ geographic reach and bring added depth to its team of sales, product development, R&D, manufacturing and customer service professionals. Al-Nisa Ward will be assuming the CEO role at Catalyst Cosmetic Development.

Wilson began her career as a cosmetic chemist, creating a number of patented skin care compounds. Over the past 14 years, she has been responsible for developing a broad range of beauty products from mass to prestige, including hair care, bath and body and skin care. At Aware, she will develop new product concepts and partner with clients to create new formulations to help their brands innovate and grow.

Wilson has appeared on Extra and The Dr. Oz Show. She has been quoted by multiple consumer publications and serves as a featured columnist for Youbeauty.com, a Dr. Oz website. In 2013, she was honored with an Essence Magazine Best in Black Beauty Award, “Innovative Cosmetic Chemist.”

“At Aware, I get to focus on the things that I love the mos –partnering with brands to create new product concepts to help them innovate and grow,” Wilson said.
