ISP Appoints VP of Personal Care

Claude Dal Farra, PhD, has been appointed to vice president of global personal care new product development for International Specialty Products (ISP). In his new role, he will head a global product development team based out of the company's headquarters in Wayne, N.J., USA,  that will work closely with ISP’s global sales, marketing and technical services teams to accelerate the development of new products and technologies across ISP’s personal care portfolio.

Prior to joining the company, Dal Farra performed the dual role of technical director and director of research in new molecules at Vincience in Sophia Antipolis, France. ISP acquired Vincience in December 2006. As technical director, Dal Farra led a 15-member group involved in the production and control of the company’s active ingredients. As director of research in new molecules, he led a 14-member group involved in the R&D of new concepts and molecules for topical application in skin care.

Dal Farra has published 23 papers on topics in neurobiology, peptides and neuropeptides, skin defense and protection, hair care, and active ingredients for skin care and aging. In addition, he has given more than 30 oral presentations at international personal care conferences, and has participated in more than 100 presentations at international scientific dermatological meetings. The holder of more than 95 French patents and 25 PCT patents, Dal Farra is affiliated with a number of distinguished scientific organizations in America and in Europe.
