Kyowa Hakko USA Names President and CEO

Toshikazu Kamiya, PhD, has been promoted to president and CEO of Kyowa Hakko USA. Before his promotion, Kamiya was director of Kyowa Hakko Bio Co., Ltd.'s Healthcare Products Development Center.

Kamiya joined the company in 1997 as head of the nutraceuticals research group, where he investigated how amino acids and other nutritional molecules relate to aging, diseases, skin disorders, obesity and other health issues.

He received his doctorate in agricultural chemistry from the University of Tokyo and has worked on pharmaceutical and nutraceutical research for over 20 years at Kyowa Hakko Bio Co., Ltd. His continuous interest in research has expanded to collaboration with research facilities such as Harvard University, Penn State Medical Center and Emory University.
