Univar Names CEO

John J. Zillmer has joined Univar as president and CEO. He succeeds Gary Pruitt, the non-executive chairman of the board, who announced his plans to retire as CEO in April 2009.

Before joining Univar, Zillmer served as chairman and CEO of Allied Waste Industries Inc. from 2005 until it merged with Republic Services in December 2008. Zillmer also spent 30 years in the managed services industry, most recently at Aramark Corp.

Pruitt will assist during the transition and remains as Univar non-executive chairman of the board.
