P&G Appoints New Head for Professional Care

The president of Proctor & Gamble's professional care business , Carsten Fischer, is resigning. The resignation is effective October 1, 2006, at which time P&G's vice president for hair care in Western Europe, Robert Jongstra, will step into the position. Jongstra has been with P&G for the for many years. Before becoming vice president, he was a leader in the company's Head & Shoulders franchise. He also oversaw the company's fine fragrances unit for the Western Hemisphere.

2024 Officers, Directors Named for the Society of Cosmetic Chemists

The Society of Cosmetic Chemists (SCC) named its 2024 board of directors, who will be sworn in at the Annual Meeting, to be held Dec. 11-13, 2023, in New York City.

Established in 2021, the scholarship awards $5,000 to two students of a specific under-represented minority of any gender identity pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in a science related field with an interest in pursuing cosmetics.
