L’Institut du Monoї announces the winners for the 2004/2005 Monoi Institute International Formulation Contest. The 2004/2005 contest was the second of its kind and was themed “Monoї Sublime Care.” Designers and formulators from the cosmetic industry were challenged to invent a product concept using the Monoi Institute’s signature ingredient Monoi de Tahiti (INCI: coco nut oil(and) tiare flower).

Frédéric Burtin, co-founder of Vim Concept, won first prize at the contest for his Florale Nativer, a protective gel cream formulated with kaupe and blue agerate flower extracts, oceania saffron and Tahitian vanilla extracts to reportedly soften, protect and revitalize the skin.

In second place was Muriel Hibon, manager of the R&D department at Derma Développement, with Tehani, an antiaging product formulated with specifically for sensitive skin to smooth and unify the skin around the eye.

Finally, in third place was Carole Marchais, creator of the formulation department for the Givaudan fine fragrance division, with Blue Lagoon with Monoї Pearls. Marchais’ product was an after sun product said to deliver a cooling sensation.
