Hand-eye Coordination Translates from Lab to Track

Perry Romanowski, a scientist at Alberto Culver, has broken the Guinness World Record for the fastest 50-mile ultra marathon while "joggling." Joggling is a combination of juggling and jogging, an activity that Romanowski did during the ultra marathon in 8 hrs., 23 min., and 52 sec. Perhaps more suprising, Romanowski finished the marathon with only four drops.

The previous record for joggling a 50-mile ultra marathon of 8:52:07 was set by Ashrita Furman in 1989. In the Lakefront 50/50, Romanowski came in 16th place overall despite joggling the entire race. Although he has completed 23 joggling marathons, this was his first ultra marathon. For more information, visit www.justyouraveragejoggler.com.
