Veteran cosmetic chemist Marshall Sorkin passed away on Aug. 16, 2010, at the age of 82. Although he was born in Chicago, Sorkin spent a majority of his life on the East Coast, having lived in East Brunswick and Monroe, New Jersey, for nearly 20 years each.
Sorkin served many of his years at Carter-Wallace Inc., where he worked as a cosmetic chemist for 29 years. In addition, he was an Emeritus member the Society of Cosmetic Chemists.
The personal care industry has many fond memories of Sorkin and learned a great deal from him. “He was a good guy and a class act,” wrote industry expert Ken Klein of Cosmetech Labs Inc., with which Paul Thau of PaCar Tech agreed.
