Pilot Completes Manufacturing Facility Improvements

Pilot Chemical Company has completed its largest infrastructure investment in the company's history at its Middletown, Ohio facility. The capital improvements and enhancements to the facility support the company's strategy of serving customers efficiently with the highest quality products.

Safety, handling and workflow processes for employees have also been upgraded. New storage tanks were installed, creating additional flexibility for trial runs. The increased storage capacity will hold a range of raw materials and finished goods, providing the ability to inventory products and better service distributors and customers.

Transportation infrastructure additions to the facility allow Pilot to better serve customers and include new rail and truck loading racks, a second rail spur and new loading and unloading docks for box trailers. The site access road has been lengthened with the addition of truck trailer parking.

Ground was broken for the expansion in June 2012. By December 2012, four capital projects were completed and by the third quarter of 2013, all of the new enhancements will be in service. Currently, the Middletown facility employs more than 45 people. Pilot expects to expand its workforce in the future. The Middletown operation was established in 1985 with an expansion in 2008. It is an ISO 9001-2008 registered manufacturing facility.
