Univar Acquires the Quaron Group

Univar will strengthen its presence in France and Benelux with the acquisition of the Quaron Group, a distributor of chemicals in Belgium, France and the Netherlands.

Supplier partners of Univar reportedly will gain more opportunities for sales growth and technical service. Quaron's commodity network is said to complement Univar's product ranges in Benelux and France. In addition, Quaron's site in the Netherlands will create new business and operational opportunities for Univar.

The acquisition is subject to regulatory approval by the EU Commission.
