Greentech announced plans for a scientific expedition to Greenland with the intent to purchase and perform research on this extreme marine environment. According to the company, in July and September 2007, Jean Yves Berthon, PhD, CEO of Greentech, will take part in the Inlandsis expedition co-organized by Janot Lamberton, explorer and expert in polar expedition.

The aim of this expedition reportedly will be to explore the Greenlandic icecap in order gather knowledge and understanding of the physiology of algae and microalgae growing in this inhospitable medium. This biological research program will be focused on algae harvests on the cap surface in order to continue and complete the inventory already started, with deepened analysis and scientific publications.
