P&G Recognizes Supplier Efforts at Awards Ceremony

The Procter & Gamble Company (P&G) recognized the top of its 80,000 suppliers on Nov. 3, 2009, at its annual supplier awards event.

BASF SE  and Evonik Industries were among the suppliers to receive P&G's highest award, the Supplier of the Year Award for 2009. BASF provides chemicals and innovations for P&G's laundry, fabric care and beauty businesses, whereas Evonik Industries provides chemicals and ingredients to P&G's laundry and diaper businesses. These companies achieved this recognition by consistently scoring the highest in broad based quantitative and qualitative evaluations by P&G employees throughout the supply chain.

In addition to the select few Supplier of the Year Awards, all companies performing consistently at high levels within P&G's internal supplier performance management system earned the Corporate Supplier Excellence Award. Among the 55 suppliers receiving this distinction were: Nippon Shokubai Company Ltd., BASF SE, Evonik Industries, Sasol Olefins & Surfactants and International Flavors & Fragrances Inc.
