BASF's White Stone, S.C., USA site has been awarded the 2006 Performance Improvement Excellence Award from the Synthetic Organic Chemical Manufactures Association (SOCMA) for its accomplishments in maintaining strong environmental, health, safety and security efforts. BASF was presented with the award at SOCMA's Annual Dinner in December 2006. In addition to being recognized for health and security, the company was also recognized for its impact on the White Stone community.

"We are extremely honored to receive this award from SOCMA. We are also especially proud of the strong focus on health, safety and security our employees display each and every day while pursuing manufacturing excellence," said Clarence Batts, manager of BASF's White Stone site.
