Procter & Gamble Co. is discontinuing the distribution of Max Factor in the United States but will continue selling it in 70 other countries. In a company statement, P&G said it will discontinue the brand in the United States effective in the first quarter of 2010.
According to the company the 100-year-old brand is a best selling brand in the UK and in Russia. P&G's CoverGirl reportedly continues to do well. There was no comment by the company as to whether this move will affect R&D jobs in the United States.
