Tokyo-based Takasago International Corp., a global manufacturer in the fragrance, beauty care, home care and air care sectors, announced the acquisition of Wessel Fragrances Inc. of Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey.
“The acquisition of Wessel Fragrances Inc. further strengthens our position in the home care and beauty care fragrance business in the United States and reaffirms our commitment to global expansion,” said Hiroki Take, president of Takasago Corp., Japan. In October 2007, Takasago purchased Dan Café in Malaysia. According to Take, the investment of Dan Café expanded the company’s ability to serve global flavor customers in the coffee beverage market.
Sean Traynor, PhD, president of Takasago International Corp. (USA), said in a press announcement, “The Wessel focus of targeted clients in the home care and beauty care sectors is wholly aligned with Takasago strategies.” The transaction is expected to close in November 2008.
