Air Products, an atmospheric gases, process and specialty gases, performance materials, and chemical intermediates producing company aimed at clientele in the technology, energy, healthcare and industrial markets industry has announced its plan to branch into a new industry, personal care.

The company will initially focus on personal care ingredients for the skin care, hair care, and color cosmetics industries. They will later sign a development agreement with Landec Corporation, which designs, develops and manufactures polymers for good, agricultural and licensed partner applications, to secure exclusive rights to patented polymer technology for personal care under the trade name Intelimer polymers.

According to Air Products, Landec will allow global personal care companies to develop distinct products. The company reports that they hope to become known as an ingredient supplier to the personal care industry.
