Guthy-Renker Acquires Scalp Med

Guthy-Renker, a direct response television company, has acquired Scalp Med, a hair restoration system for men and women from Modern Health Labs Inc. As part of the agreement, Guthy-Renker will manage all aspects of marketing and distribution establish Scalp Med as a leading hair re-growth brand in the United States. The deal closed on December 31, 2007.

Guthy-Renker reportedly became interested in the brand after noticing its formulations and innovative products. It was also looking to expand in the health and beauty category. Guthy-Renker has developed and created infomercials for Proactiv Solution, Principal Secret, Meaningful Beauty, Sheer Cover, Natural Advantage and Youthful Essence.
