Naturex Acquires Burgundy Botanical Extracts

Naturex will acquire Burgundy Botanical Extracts to strengthen its offering in the nutraceutical, pharmaceutical and personal care markets.

Burgundy's product portfolio reportedly will complement Naturex's offering. Naturex's industrial and technological expertise in addition to its global sourcing capacity, innovation and the strength of its worldwide commercial network will aid Burgundy's products.

Burgundy employs around 60 people at its two production sites based in France and Spain with significant capacity for extraction, purification and drying operations. Of the company's 14 million revenue over the last 12 months, nutrition and heath accounted for 39%, pharmaceuticals accounted for 28% and cosmetics accounted for 17% of 2010 sales. Additionally, 9% of the company sales were services such as custom formulation, extraction and processing.
