IMCD Acquires South African Distributor Ethnichem

IMCD Group has acquired Ethnichem, a South African distributor of cosmetic and pharmaceutical raw materials.

According to IMCD, the acquisition will strengthen its position in both the cosmetic and the pharmaceutical markets. Additionally, the acquisition will provide Ethnichem with resources such as laboratories and research that will allow them to offer their customers more services.

All Ethnichem staff will be moving over to IMCD. Alan Rahme, owner and managing director of Ethnichem will lead IMCD's personal care business in South Africa. The acquisition was effective July 1, 2011.
