Health and Beauty America Details Released

Health & Beauty America (HBA) has announced the details for the First Annual HBA Regulatory Summit. The event will take place on September 13, 2006 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York. According to an event press release, the summit is "The opportunity for delegates to combine technical and legal aspects with industry viewpoints and international consultant expertise and to provide "go-to" resources to enable effective direction setting and action plans for managing current and future projects."

The keynote speaker for the event will be Bruce N. Ames, PhD, who will give a speech entitled, "Maximizing Health: The World of Risks in Perspective." Ames is the director of the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences Center at the University of California Berkeley and a professor at the university's graduate school of biochemistry and molecular biology. The conference is organized and chaired by Meyer R. Rosen, a fellow at both the Royal Society of Chemistry and the American College of Forensic Examiners. In addition, co-moderating the event will be Rosen and Rebecca James Gadberry, president of Interactive Consulting Inc. and president and chairman of YG Laboratories.

Technical specialists in product development, business managers, clinical testing laboratory personnel, contract packagers, ingredient suppliers, toxicologist, and regulatory counsel are all encouraged to attend the event.  Special topics will include: regulatory compliance issues, animal testing alternatives and identifying legal/regulatory and technological resources to support new product development consistent with emerging regulatory requirements, among others.
