Shea, Soy Combo for Lip Moisture and Shine
Posted: May 25, 2010
AAK has combined shea and soy to heal, soothe, moisturize and add non-sticky shine to lip care products. Lipex L'Sens (INCI: Soybean Glycerides (and) Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter) Unsaponifiables) is a vegetable-derived ingredient that is reportedly odorless, colorless and tasteless. In addition to lip care, the ingredient is recommended for skin care products.
The ingredient is said to: soothe rough, chapped lips; enhance color uniformity; replenish and strengthen the lips; and impart a desired afterfeel. The ingredient also reportedly heals fine lines and cracks by adding moisture to lips and protecting lips from environmental stress.
The company also finds the soy/shea duo to enhance lip care performance by promoting the uniform dispersion of pigment and SPF additives. The combination's high content of triterpene esters and vitamin E work together to reduce environmental damage caused by exposure to sun and wind and promote high moisture-retention characteristics that provide immediate and long-term moisturization.
The ingredient is friendly to the environment, as it is created from a renewable source. The product can also added to general skin care formulations that soothe and moisturize such as: light lotions, body creams and baby lotions.
