Cyclomethicone Substitute

Presperse has introduced an alternative to the volatile fluid cyclopentasiloxane. SiClone SR-5 (INCI: C13-16 isoparaffin (and) C12-C14 isoparaffin (and) C13-C15 alkane) reportedly is indistinguishable from cyclopentasiloxane, yet it is 100% silicone-free. Formulators now have a choice when they develop new products, and can replace cyclopentasiloxane with the fully-functioning substitute in skin care, hair care, and color cosmetics.
