Tetrapeptide for Antiaging Skin Care

Evonik has created a bioactive and pure tetrapeptide for antiaging skin care formulations. TEGO Pep 4-17 (INCI: Tetrapeptide-17 (and) Glycerin (and) Butylene Glycol (and) Water (aqua)) activates collagen production and stimulates dermal filling, repair, and renewal mechanisms of the skin.
Tetrapeptide-17 is based on skin's own structures. The ingredient reportedly leads to an increased elasticity, a decreased volume of wrinkles and fine lines as well as a reduction of skin roughness. The recommended usage level is 0.5–5.0%. The product is identified by an in-silico (bioinformatic) approach for prediction of biologically active extracellular breakdown products.
