Water-based, Broad Spectrum, Titanium Dioxide Dispersion

Croda has added a water-based titanium dioxide dispersion to its Solaveil range. Solaveil XT-40W (INCI: Titanium Dioxide (and) Water (aqua) (and) Polyglyceryl-2 Caprate (and) Sucrose Stearate (and) Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil (and) Stearic Acid (and) Alumina (and) Glyceryl Caprylate (and) Squalane), like other products in the range, offers broad spectrum UV protection to allow the formulator to make globally approved, high SPF sunscreen products that conform to EU guidelines for UVA protection using this single active ingredient.

This titanium dioxide dispersion uses an aqueous base to deliver formulation flexibility and the freedom to formulate light and spreadable o/w emulsions. In addition, the dispersion is said to impart a silky, talc-like skin feel.

With TiO2 in the water phase of the emulsion, the dispersion can also be formulated into organic sunscreens. Its natural composition and Ecocert validation reportedly enable it to be used in green formulations.
