Title: Mild Surfactant for Dense Foam
  • Article

Innospec has unveiled a mild surfactant that can be used as a primary or secondary surfactant. Iselux LQ-CLR-SB (INCI: Sodium Lauroyl Methyl Isethionate) was designed to produce a dense, luxurious foam and elegant after feel.

According to the company, the surfactant provides gentle yet thorough cleansing with good rinseability. The surfactant's water solubility allows the formulator to produce crystal clear liquid cleansing systems while its secondary ester structure makes it more hydrolytically stable than many common esters. In addition, the product's broad pH stability range simplifies formulating

The product is recommended for shower gels, facial cleansers, shampoos, liquid cleansing systems and luxury foam baths. It can also be used to prepare high performance, sulfate-free personal cleansing products as well as structured liquid systems.

The company reports the surfactant is biodegradable and derived from natural, renewable resources; it is also safe at all use levels and gentle on sensitive skin.
