  • Article

ARD and Oleon NV have joined forces and created Wheatoleo, a 50/50 joint venture focused on green surfactants. The two will market a line of natural, vegetal renewable, sugar surfactants based on pentosides. According to the two companies, alkyl poly pentosides (APPs) have outstanding properties and are environmentally harmless.

ARD has been developing the pentosides with the support of Agriculture for Chemicals and Industry, the French Environment and Energy Management Agency and the Region Champagne Ardenne. The APPs will be produced by Oleon. The APPs will be distributed through the Oleon and Soliance international sales networks. The APPs reportedly will fit in a number of industries as emulsifiers, surfactants and hydrotropes.
