Surfactants from Coconut Oil, Corn Syrup

Colonial Chemical has introduced its Poly SugaMate series of eco-friendly surfactants. These sulfocuccinate surfactants are derived from alkylpolyglucosides (APGs), which in turn are derived from coconut oil and corn syrup.

The new product series is designed for use in personal care products that are mild to the eyes and skin. It has little odor and reportedly will not add unwanted color to formulations. In addition, it imparts a conditioned feeling to the skin.

According to the company, these surfactants have the ability to reduce the irritation of other surfactants in formulations. They are high foaming, preservative-free, biodegradable products, made from renewable resources; they also have been Green-Star rated.

Application suggestions include, but are not limited to: body cleansers, bubble baths, conditioning shampoos, bath gels and facial washes. For more information, visit: www.colonialchem.com.
