Qenax has used grapefruit to address premature skin aging. Cayoma Grapefruit (INCI: Water (aqua), Citrus Paradisi Fruit and Peel Extract (and) Alcohol (and) Maltodextrin) stimulates the formation of phase II enzymes, which strongly support the outward transfer and later destruction of toxins and chemicals from skin cells.

This product is an extract of the fruit and seeds of the grapefruit, which contain different bioflavonoids. Bioflavonoids are said to possess detoxifying properties, among them improved energy of cells and induced formation of phase II enzymes. This product contains 10% bioflavonoids, which induce the formation of phase II enzymes by binding molecular water to small water soluble molecules, which enable the outward transfer of the cells and the following destruction.

Hesperetin and naringenin, the aglycones of the flavanone glycosides hesperidin and naringin, are naturally present in grapefruit. These entities are said to protect the DNA against the UV damage and oxidative stress.

According to the company, this grapefruit extract can be used in a range of skin care applications and reportedly is effective at low concentration levels. The company recommends the ingredient for products targeted at premature skin aging,vitalization, skin regeneration and wrinkle reduction.
