Amodimethicone Cationic Emulsion for Hair Care Conditioning

Chemsil Silicones Inc. has introduced a 35% active cationic emulsion for improved conditioning deposition in hair care applications. Emulsil CC-44 (INCI: Amodimethicone (and) Cetrimonium Chloride (and) Trideceth-12) combines amodimethicone with a non-tallow derived quaternary amine surfactant.

The emulsion offers formulators cost effective performance along with the benefits from advanced emulsion technology. In keeping with the latest regulatory directives, the emulsion utilizes a preservative system that does not release formaldehyde and is paraben free. With an average particle size that is 15% smaller than competitive products, the emulsion provides improved deposition of the active ingredients across the entire hair shaft resulting in improved conditioning, frizz control, softness, wet and dry comb.

Beta site testing showed a marked improvement in the look and feel on a wide range of hair types according to Robert Griffiths, VP of Chemsil. "We are excited to bring this type of technical advancement to the hair care industry in a cost effective vehicle."

The emulsion is recommended at 1-5% as a conditioning additive for hair care products such as shampoos, rinse off and leave in conditioners, hair colorants and styling aids. Benefits include: improved hair conditioning, decreased fly-aways, improved coverage and spreading, improved wet and dry combing and improved formula stability.
