Title: Cosmetics Products Can Chill Out
  • Article

Lipo Chemicals Inc. offers an odorless sensory agent that provides a cooling effect to skin. Coolact 10 (INCI: Menthoxypropanediol), created by Takasago,  reportedly can be used separately or combined with other sensory agents to deliver a tailored cooling effect to a cosmetic or personal care product.  Coolact 10, in combination with other sensory agents, has been found to last up to two hours.

According to Takasago, the ingredient is soluble in most solvents used in personal care formulations. The company recommends the ingredient for formulation in lip balms/sticks, facial tonics/balms, depilatory creams/lotions, after sun products, pre/after shave products, etc.
