Sterile and Natural Colloidal Oatmeal Grades for Skin from Oat Cosmetics
Posted: March 20, 2013
Oat Cosmetics will introduce both Ecocert natural-certified and sterile grades of its colloidal oatmeal at in-cosmetics 2013 in Paris. Oat COM EUR (INCI: Not Provided) is a colloidal oatmeal with skin-enhancing properties that is Ecocert/COSMOS natural-certified to be used in the European market. It is recommended as an active skin-enhancing base for creams and lotions. Oat COM IRR (INCI: Not Provided) is a sterile version of colloidal oatmeal for use in clinical and OTC-type formulations.
The company has expanded its Oat COM range in response to customer requests. The range expansion has been carefully designed for the cosmetics industry by Oat Cosmetics and now consists of four grades of colloidal oatmeal, each developed for versatility, activity and functionality. Other grades include Oat COM USP (INCI: Avena Sativa Kernel Meal), a colloidal oatmeal that meets US Pharmacopeia standards as a skin protectant with soothing capabilities for sensitive skin; and Oat COM ORG (INCI: Avena Sativa Kernel Flour), an Ecocert organic-certified grade.
The Oat COM range is a versatile, cost effective colloidal oatmeal, demonstrating anti-aging, anti-irritant, cleansing and moisturizing properties. Manufactured under a patented process, the range shows increased availability of active molecules such as beta-glucan, enhancing its efficacy over colloidal oatmeal produced by traditional milling.
Learn More About Natural Emulsifiers
The number of emulsifiers that are Ecocert-certified or suitable for an eco-label certification is limited. Thus, the formulator is forced to overcome many difficulties in order to achieve a compromise in terms of stability. Cosmetics & Toiletries offers an online video-based education course, Developing Natural Cosmetic Formulations, which assists the formulator in the practical aspects of constructing natural personal care products for the growing naturals market.
