'Feel' Your Age? This Ingredient Can Help

Earlier this year, at in-cosmetics Paris, Gattefossé launched its Gatuline Renew ingredient (INCI: Butylene Glycol (and) Water (aqua) (and) Cryptomeria Japonica Bud Extract), which it will present again at in-cosmetics North America next month.

This ingredient targets one of the most difficult signs of aging to hide: degraded skin texture. According to the company, skin texture degradation is the consequence of cell deceleration and damaged barrier function. It feels coarse and visibly is a clear indicator of aging.

This natural extract from Japanese cedar buds is rich in energizing phytochemicals and is designed to stimulate epidermal renewal. It has been shown to act from basal layers to surface corneocytes in in vitro and ex vivo advanced skin models. Used at only 1% in formulations, it rebuilds the epidermis and restores efficient skin barrier function. Thus, the smooth, soft texture of young and fresh skin is restored.
