Symrise Introduces Algae Extracts for Hair Thickening and Self-tanning

Symrise has introduced two algae extracts, one designed to prevent hair loss, strengthen hair and make it thicker, while the other serves as a dual-action self-tanner for face and body.

SymHair Force 1631 (INCI: Pentylene Glycol (and) Isochrysis Galbana Extract) is a microalgae extract that prevents thinning and hair loss while thickening and strengthening hair. It was clinically shown to increase anagen hair 10.5% and telogen hair 11.7%, both versus a placebo. It is recommended at 4% in formulations. It is soluble in water, alcohol and glycols.

SymBronze 1659 (INCI: Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride (and) Isochrysis Galbana Extract) provides a natural looking tan without exposure to UV rays. It works in two ways: it stimulates skin's melanin content for darker skin pigmentation, and it also accelerates tanning time from (or during) UV exposure. The extract also increases/stimulates the production of melanin (melanin biosynthesis) It is recommended at 2-4% in formulations. It is oil soluble and contains 0.5% tocopherol.
