Lucas Meyer Introduces Active for Infra'aging Protection

Lucas Meyer Cosmetics will introduce an active that fights infra'aging at in-cosmetics 2013 in Paris.

Elix-IR (INCI: Not Provided) is a botanical active ingredient designed to fight infrared-induced skin aging (infra'aging), a concept in skin photoprotection and photoaging. Underestimated for years, infrared and its generated heat is responsible for loss of firmness and elasticity, leading to premature appearance of wrinkles. Through its inhibitory action on cathepsin G enzyme, the active reduces IR-, UV-, heat-induced MMP production and fibre degradation. Clinical results have confirmed its effects on sun-damaged skin, allowing the active to provide a new strategy for action against photoaging that is  complementary to classical UV protection.

The company will also discuss a natural hair straightener at in-cosmetics. Phytenso (INCI: Phospholipids (and) Glycine Soya (Soybean) Oil) is a natural and soft hair straightener proposed as an alternative to aggressive chemical relaxers. It fights frizz, locks out humidity and improves hair’s manageability. It is recommended at 0.5-2% in hair care formulations. The hair straightening ingredient is certified by Ecocert Greenlife.
